Storage Space

All email accounts have a storage space of 8 GB. The available space of each email account (also called quota) cannot be combined or split.

Example: a domain including 10 x 8 GB-email accounts will have 80 GB of total available space, but will not have a single email account with an 80GB storage capacity.

If you need email accounts over 8 GB in size, you can set the size to 25 GB. This will eventually increase the account size up by 25GB and, if necessary, could be upgraded further to a maximum of 100 GB for email account.

You can create email accounts with a size different than the default ones directly from your control panel. The available quotas are:

• 1 GB
• 2 GB
• 3 GB
• 4 GB
• 5 GB
• 6 GB
• 7 GB
• 8 GB
• 16 GB
• 25 GB
• 50 GB for Professional and Enterprise
• 100 GB for Enterprise

For billing purposes, only 8, 25, 50, and 100GB email accounts are counted.

For each domain, you can set a default size (default quota) and the maximum storage space (maximum email quota) that the email accounts associated with that domain can get, in order to limit the Postmaster's possibilities.

The space used by email accounts can be checked in real time via Webmail, Control Panel, or via the email client configured with IMAP (if it supports the display of the quota, such as Thunderbird). The domain client or Postmaster can check the quota of all its users from the control panel or via the API.

Email accounts also have a limit on the maximum number of messages they can contain.

The limit on the number of messages is only a protection against possible abuse and usually no user reaches it. The maximum numbers of messages for each dimension are listed below:

MoxiMail alerts users via email when they are approaching 100% of used storage. In particular, email alerts are sent when one exceeds 90% and 95% of used space, and when the used storage space returns below 85%.

When 100% of the available space is reached, new emails can no longer be received and access to the email box can also be problematic. Users whose email accounts reach 100% of the quota must expand their storage space or clear their Webmail.

You can monitor full mailbox alerts through the Activity Log.

Notification via Webhook or almost-full mailbox email

You can choose to be notified when an email account is almost full or when it returns below a certain threshold, if you wish so. By accessing the control panel as an admin, you can choose to receive an alert via a Webhook or via email notification.

Notifications via Webhook or email are sent:

• over 90% of the quota;
• over 95% of the quota;
• used storage returns below 85% of capacity.

Commission for the Postmaster email account

The email account "postmaster@domain.com", being a service account, has an unchangeable quota of 50 MB.

The maximum size of an email message that can be received on the MoxiMail platform is 50MB.
